Coating processes in detail
Powder coating in anthracite
Our most popular option. Choose this if you want very high corrosion protection with a particularly attractive appearance. With this option, the material is sandblasted, zinc-phosphated, and finished with an anthracite-coloured coating (duplex system). This coating is suitable for all models.
Hot-dip galvanising
In hot-dip galvanising, the finished product is immersed in liquid zinc (450° Celsius). This creates an alloy layer of iron and zinc that protects the product from the elements in the long term. The item thus acquires its rustic, matte silver colour.
Uncoated (pig iron / rust)
If you'd like to save money by doing some of the work yourself, you can order the product untreated and apply a simple surface finish. We recommend metal protective paint from a hardware store (e.g., Hammerite). The "untreated" option is also suitable if you want your fence or gate to develop a romantic, antique patina of rust over time. We can offer all models untreated. If you plan to install uncoated fences, gates, or railings on a surface of natural stone, wood, or similar materials, please bear in mind that the elements may stain the surface in rain and high humidity (dew).
Corten steel
Corten steel is a weather-resistant structural steel characterized by its efficient
weather resistance. When exposed to the elements, the steel forms a special protective layer beneath the actual rust layer. This layer protects the surface from further corrosion. The protective layer continuously forms and renews itself over the years with the weather.
Visually, Corten steel impresses with its elegant patina and distinctive rust appearance. Because this patina is constantly changing, the look is unique and ranges in colour from brownish to golden.
