Choose the coating yourself: powder-coated, hot-dip galvanised or uncoated.
You are free to choose the coating. A coating makes your railing even more resistant to corrosion and weathering – and also enhances its appearance. Choose anthracite powder-coated terrace railing if you prefer a classic, elegant look. Hot-dip galvanising, on the other hand, is a perfect match for modern terrace railings and impresses with a silvery-matte finish. If you choose your railing system without a coating, it will develop a romantic, weathered rust patina over time. This does not affect the long-term stability of the railing.

If your railing becomes soiled, clean it with mild soapy water to remove dirt and deposits. Check the railing for rust and treat any areas immediately with rust inhibitor.
The legally required minimum height for a metal terrace railing is generally 90 cm. If the terrace is higher than 12 meters, the railing must be at least 110 cm high. Detailed information on railing height can be found in our guide, "Regulations for Balcony Railings in Your State."
An existing railing can easily be replaced with a new metal railing, provided all structural and safety regulations are observed.
