A privacy fence is much more than just a functional element that protects your property and your privacy. It significantly contributes to the design of your garden. Among the many materials from which privacy fences can be made, Corten steel has become increasingly popular in recent years. We'll explain why this is the case and take a detailed look at the advantages of a privacy screen made of Corten steel.
Corten steel – what exactly is it?
Corten steel, also known as weathering steel, is an alloy specifically designed to form a protective layer of rust without any additional surface treatment. This rust protects the material from further corrosion and gives Corten steel its characteristic warm, orange-brown patina. In the context of privacy fences, this rust look is not only aesthetically pleasing but also serves as natural protection against the elements.

The Aesthetic Appeal of Corten Steel Privacy Fences
A privacy fence made of Corten steel offers a unique look that stands out from other materials. The warm earth tones of the rust harmonize perfectly with the natural surroundings and lend your garden a rustic elegance. The colour palette ranges from vibrant orange to rust brown and deep red, giving the fence a lively appearance over time.
Weather Resistance and Durability
The greatest advantage of Corten steel is its exceptional weather resistance. The protective rust layer forms within a few months of installation and acts as a barrier against further corrosion. Unlike conventional steel grades, the rust patina does not compromise the structural integrity and stability of the material. This ensures that the Corten steel privacy fence remains stable and durable for years to come.
